TaShayla Grigsby

Bachelor of Science
Child Welfare Consultant

A quote that serves as a daily reminder to TaShayla is, "Transformational Thinking meets Transformational Doing." TaShayla is married with three children and currently works as a Child Welfare Learning and Development Consultant (CWLD).

TaShayla began working for the agency in 2007 as an investigator before transitioning to the Foster Care program, where valuable knowledge was gained. After some time, TaShayla returned to investigations and later advanced to the role of supervisor for Investigations. After several years, a career shift led to graduation from the police academy and a position as an investigator in the Special Victims Unit, continuing to work with children and families on cases involving sexual assault, domestic violence, and physical abuse. This experience provided even greater insight, requiring an adjustment in thinking to prioritize the safety and well-being of children while considering legal standards beyond a reasonable doubt.

Eventually, TaShayla returned to DCFS as a Foster Care supervisor and later transitioned into the role of CWLD Consultant (OTJT), a position that brings immense fulfillment. Every career decision and program change has had a significant impact on TaShayla's life. Passionate about supporting the families served and the staff hired, TaShayla finds joy in witnessing staff members feel appreciated and confident in their work.

With a Leadership Certification adding value to an already impactful career, TaShayla takes pride in fostering caring behaviors, confidence, and growth in thinking among staff. These moments reaffirm the purpose behind this work. TaShayla encourages you to think about your "why"?
